Astronomy @ UCR

The astronomy group at UCR conducts cutting-edge research in a broad range of topics in astrophysics and cosmology.  We combine observational, theoretical, and computational techniques to study near and distant galaxies, the growth and evolution of black holes, large-scale structure, and the fundamental makeup of our Universe.

Astronomical Facilities at UCR

UCR researchers conduct ground-breaking observations with UC, national, and international facilities including Lick Observatory, the Keck Telescopes, the Hubble Space Telescope, the James Webb Space Telescope, the Subaru Telescope, the Atacama Large Millimeter Array, and others.  UCR teams also lead major projects on high-performance computing facilities.
