Moon Landing 50th Anniversary Celebration — July 11, 2019

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of moon-landing, and we are excited to invite you to celebrate this incredible event! Please join us on the UCR campus and learn more about the Apollo 11 legacy as well as the current missions to the solar-system planets and moons. The event will also feature telescope viewings of the moon, and multiple hands-on activities. We look forward to having you here!

  • Place: UC Riverside, Pierce Lawn and Life Sciences Building
  • Program:
  Public Lecture (Prof. Timothy Lyons from Earth Sciences), 7:30-8:30pm, Life Sciences 1500
Title: Fifty Years of Discovery—From the Moon to Mars and Beyond
 
  Telescope Viewings, 8:30-9:30pm, Pierce Lawn
  Hands-on Activities, 6:30-7:30pm and 8:30-9:30pm, Life Sciences Walkway/Courtyard
Activities include: Touching a Martian Meteorite!, Moon Phases and Lunar Eclipse, and Cratering Experiments.
