For my thesis research, I'm studying the evolution of stellar velocity dispersion, \sigma_{*}during galaxy mergers while taking dust-extinction effects into account.  Toward this end, I'm using GADGET-2 to perform numerical simulations and Sunrise to create synthetic Doppler-broadened spectra and images of the simulated galaxy mergers.
